Description

Falcon Works Pot Bank, occupied by Portmerion Potteries Limited, is a pot bank built between 1902 and 1905. The buildings are constructed of brick and have plain tiled roofs. The surviving structures include a single-storeyed kiln block and two workshop and warehouse ranges located on opposite sides of a yard. The kiln range consists of 9 bays and features 2 downdraught glost ovens with circular hovels to the east. To the west, there is a 3-storeyed workshop range with 18 bays, which has doorways in the end bays and fixed-light windows with double ring cambered heads. A stone plaque of a falcon is located in the gable apex. There is an additional workshop block to the south, which is 3 storeys high and has 12 bays with similar detailing, built around the same time. The works were constructed by Goss as an extension to the London Road works established in 1858.
