Description

5, The Villas is a house built between 1851 and 1855 by Charles Lynam, designed in the Italianate style. The building is constructed of stucco over brick with a concrete tiled roof. It has two storeys and features three unequal bays, each with a gable on the main elevation, which are stepped in plan. The doorway is located in a narrow central bay, while the outer gables have sash windows. The left-hand bay includes a tripartite window on the ground floor. There is a tower at the rear and a stack on the right-hand gable, along with overhanging eaves. This house was part of a small development of middle-class housing, originally forming an estate of 24 houses.
