Description
The walled garden, located approximately 120 metres southwest of Eyton on Severn Farmhouse, is likely from the late 18th century and may include some earlier elements. It is constructed from red brick and some red sandstone, featuring an irregular square plan that measures about 40 metres on each side. The walls are built in two stages, tapering to a narrower top section, and include chamfered-topped buttresses. There is a segmental-arched boarded door positioned in the middle of the northeast wall. Locally known as the Monks Garden, this walled garden was probably once part of the grounds of Sir Francis Newport's house at Eyton, which was destroyed by fire.
