WROXETER CP EYTON ON SEVERN Walled garden approximately 120 metres to south west of Eyton on Severn Farmhouse

GV II Shown on O.S. map as Wall

Walled garden. Probably late C18, incorporating possibly earlier fragments. Red brick and some red sandstone. Irregular square plan, approximately 40 metres each side. Walls in two stages, chamfered to narrower top section with chamfered-topped buttresses; segmental-arched boarded door in middle of north east wall. The walled garden is known locally as the Monks Garden and was probably formerly in the grounds of Sir Francis Newport's house at Eyton before its destruction by fire.
