Description
28 Old Street is a house dating from the 17th century, with a front added around 1800. The building features a brick front, timber framing, and a plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack. It has three storeys and a cellar, with a two-window range consisting of 8/8 sashes and 4/4 sashes above. The ground and first floors have painted stucco lintels. The central doorcase is adorned with reeded pilasters, a frieze, and a moulded flat hood, and it includes a part-glazed panel door. To the left, there is a plank door leading to a passageway, which is set under a semi-circular brick arch. The rear of the house displays irregular timber-framing and has a rear wing. Inside, the ground floor features massive spine beams with deep ogee-stopped chamfers and a cross beam.
