Description
No. 4 High Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble with cogged brick eaves and has a slate roof. The house features integral brick gable end stacks, with the one on the right made of blue engineering brick. The building has a rectangular plan that runs parallel to the street.
The exterior consists of two storeys and a three-window range on the first floor, featuring 8/8 sashes on either side of a central 6/6 sash. On the ground floor, there are two similar sashes under segmental heads, flanking a central doorcase that has plain wood pilasters and a plain corniced hood. The entrance includes a four-panelled door with glazed upper lights. The left return gable is made of stone rubble, which has been partly rebuilt in brick. The interior has not been inspected.
