Description

Turnpike Cottage is a toll house that has been converted into a house, dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and features a hipped slate roof with a brick ridge chimney. The building has a simple rectangular plan with two canted corners, one located at the junction of Ludlow Road and Catherton Road.

The exterior is two stories high and has a two-window range, with the entrance door positioned on the right-hand cant, which has a recessed blank panel above it. To the right side, there is a single-window range and a lean-to extension. The ground-floor level has 20th-century casements set in segmental-arched openings. The interior has not been inspected.
