Description

This urn, dating from around 1840, is made of red sandstone and designed in the Gothic style. It has an octagonal shape with a moulded base and bowl, featuring quatrefoil-in-lozenge side panels. This urn is one of a pair that contributes to the formal layout in the forecourt of Loton Park. It shares stylistic similarities with the urn finials on the piers of the forecourt retaining wall. The urn is included for its group value.
