Description

Little Dyffryd is a farmhouse dated 1713, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of painted red brick, with some 20th-century brick patching, and features a graded slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys high. There is a continuous plain band at the first floor and toothed bands on the front and rear gables of the cross wing. The hall range includes a 19th-century sash window on the right side at the first floor, with a 19th-century casement window directly below it; to the left is a boarded door. The gable has 20th-century casement windows on both floors, with the first-floor window having an infilled segmental head. There are integral lateral stacks at the rear of the long range and on the right wall of the cross wing, the latter of which has been rebuilt in 20th-century red brick. A date stone with the inscription "SD / 1713" is located in a triangular armorial shield on the front gable of the cross wing. The interior was not accessible during the last survey in October 1986 but is likely to be of interest.
