Description
No. 22 High Street is a late 16th-century house that has been converted into a shop. It features a timber-framed structure topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building stands two stories tall with high gabled attics and has a two-window range. The entire ground floor has been fitted with an inserted shop front. Above this, there is decorative framing composed of small panels with ogee bracing, quatrefoils, and balustrading. To the left, there are two slightly projecting three-light wood mullioned and transomed windows, adorned with ornate lead cames. The gables are steep and wide, also showcasing decorative framing and three-light mullioned and transomed windows. The barge-boards are enriched and feature carved figure finials. A renewed panel at the junction of the gables is dated 1598. Inside, it is said that there is a painted ceiling in the attic room.
