Description

This barn, approximately 25 metres north-east of Seifton Manor (which is not included in the listing), dates to the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with a timber frame incorporating brick nogging, and weatherboarding, set on a rubble plinth, and has a plain tile roof. The barn is an 8-bay range, single-storey with inserted lofts. The exterior features various openings and span-arch stone and brick ventilation holes. There are wagon entrances to the south and north, each with a plank door, and steps leading to a granary. The barn was extended by a further 4 bays in the 18th century. Internally, it contains raking strut trusses with ridge purlins.
