Description
No. 51 is a cottage located in Coton, likely dating from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. The building features a roughcast timber frame and a slate roof, rising to two storeys and appearing to consist of two framed bays. On the ground floor, there are two late 20th century casement windows, with two smaller contemporary casements above. Internal red brick stacks are positioned at the front of the ridge on both the left and right sides. A bulge in the roughcast on the right gable end suggests that the apex may be jettied. The entrance is through a late 20th century glazed porch that is attached to a late 20th century lean-to on the right, which is not considered to have special architectural interest. Although the interior could not be inspected during the resurvey in February 1986, it is reported that the timber frame is substantially intact.
