Description
This is a mid-19th century magazine located at Snailbeach Lead Mine in Worthen. It is constructed from uncoursed limestone rubble and is currently roofless. The building has a square plan with double walls and is a single storey high. There is one blocked window on both the east and west sides. The purpose of this structure was to store explosives, and the double-walled construction was designed to contain any explosions that might occur from accidental ignition.
