The winding engine house, built in the mid-19th century, is located at Snailbeach Lead Mine in Worthen. It is constructed from roughly coursed limestone and shale rubble, featuring stone angle quoins, and currently has no roof. The building has a rectangular plan with a square projection to the south, and the walls stand up to 5 meters high. This structure is included for its group value.
