Description
The Crusher House, built around 1873, is a two-storey structure located in Snailbeach Lead Mine. It is constructed from regularly coursed limestone rubble with red brick dressings around the windows, and it is currently roofless. The building has a rectangular plan and features a circular opening on its north side. An associated chimney has a stone base, with yellow and red brick above. Originally, the crushing engine was housed within this building and was reconstructed in 1873. In 1876, to reduce manual labor, it was connected to eight jigging machines that were used for ore dressing, although these machines are no longer present. The Crusher House is included for its group value.
