Description
No. 4 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling, dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber-frame structure with render and a slate roof. The building stands three stories high and includes a cellar, with a two-window range. The windows on the ground and first floors are 20th-century mullion and transom lights with metal casements, and there are similar lights above. The ornamental box framing adds to its character.
The mid-20th-century oak shopfront has a central part-glazed door flanked by plate glass windows, all beneath a carved frieze, and it includes Cotswold-stone stallrisers. The building was restored in 1981. The front facing Harp Lane features 19th-century brickwork with a bay of box framing above a first-floor jetty, and it has 20th-century lights and casements.
