Description

This is a late 18th-century house built over two shops. It is constructed of painted brick with a decorative dentil course along the eaves, set on a rendered plinth, with unpainted brick visible on the sides. The roof is covered in interlocking tiles, and there are two stacks: a large central one and a gable-end stack to the west. The original layout included a front range and a rear cross wing.

The building is three storeys high with an attic and a cellar. The front of the building originally had a three-window, asymmetrical design with 6/6 sash windows, some of which now have painted lintels featuring raised moulded keyblocks on the lower floors. The ground-floor windows to the right have been replaced with a double-fronted shop window featuring a canted projecting bay and a 20th-century glazed door. A 20th-century glazed window is located to the left, and a further 20th-century glazed door is on the far left.

The left-hand side wall has three storeys and features brick segmental arched openings on each floor, now containing 20th-century windows. The side wall is connected to the rear cross wing, which is two storeys high and has two windows. The earlier right-hand side of the cross wing has 2-light casements with brick segmental lintels on the ground floor, while the later left-hand side has 6/6 sash windows. A 20th-century central door with a brick segmental arch lintel is located within the ground-floor openings on the left-hand side. The gable end of the wing is obscured by a 20th-century rendered lean-to extension. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
