Former Farm Cottage Approximately 25 Metres To North West Of Walcot Road Farmhouse

This former farm cottage, located approximately 25 metres northwest of Walcot Road Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century and has undergone restoration and additions in the late 20th century. The cottage features a timber frame set on a brick plinth and is topped with a banded plain tile roof. It consists of two framed bays and is one storey high with an attic. There are late 20th-century raking dormers that include two-light wooden casements, with one on the northwest side and two on the southeast side. A central brick ridge stack is present. The framing is characterized by square panels, with three panels extending from the sole-plate to the wall-plate and short straight braces. The cottage has late 20th-century two-light wooden casements, with three on the northwest and two on the southeast. The southwest gable end reveals an exposed collar and tie-beam truss with queen-struts and V-struts. Flanking the cottage are late 20th-century one-storey red brick additions that connect to the cottage via short links; the addition to the northwest includes garages and an entrance in the link. Inside, there is a central collar and tie-beam truss with queen-struts, single purlins with windbraces, chamfered beams, and open fireplaces.
