Description

The font, now disused, is located approximately 1 metre east of the north porch of the Church of St. Chad in Prees. It dates from 1762 and is made of sandstone in a Neo-Norman style. The font features a circular scalloped bowl that rests on a moulded plinth with a rectangular base. An inscription around the rim of the bowl reads "John Whitfield & Thomas Ash Wardens in 1762."
