Outbuilding Approximately 4M West Of Lower House

This building is an outbuilding located approximately 4 meters west of Lower House. It is a malthouse that has been converted into a garage and store. The structure likely dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with some later additions and alterations. It is constructed from uncoursed limestone and conglomerate rubble, topped with a machine tile roof. The building has three levels, with the west side featuring a central boarded door and ventilated openings on each side at the ground floor. There are mid-19th century additions at the rear. Inside, the roof consists of three bays with arch-braced curved principals extending from the wall-plate, supported by king posts from the collars. The building is depicted as a malthouse on the 1839 Tithe Map of Church Pulverbatch.
