Description
This is a pump located approximately 2.5 metres southeast of Downton Farmhouse, dating from the mid- to late 19th century. It is made of painted cast iron and features a circular shaft with moulded rings. The top is fluted and has a splayed spout, while the cap is fluted and domed. There is a curved handle, and a maker's plate on the shaft reads "W.HOME/SHREWSBURY". The pump is included for its group value with the surrounding structures.
