Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres north of New House Farmhouse, dates from the mid-17th century and has undergone some alterations in the late 19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame set on a brick plinth, featuring red brick nogging and vertical matchboarding. The end walls have been rebuilt in red brick, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. The framing consists of square panels, with three panels extending from the sole plate to the wall plate, supported by long straight tension braces. The barn includes slatted windows and boarded openings, along with boarded stable-type doors. An inserted floor is also present. This building is included for its group value.
