Description

This milestone, dating from the mid to late 18th century, is made of sandstone and features a curved head. It has a white cast iron plaque attached with four iron nails, which includes raised edging and lettering painted black. The inscription on the plaque reads "BRIDGNORTH/8 MILES/CLEOBURY MORT/6 MILES".

The milestone is part of the Cleobury Mortimer Turnpike Trust, established under the First Act of 1761. It remains in its original location and is a well-preserved example of its kind, making it an important historical marker of road use.
