Description
Nos. 3 and 4 Broad Street is a shop and dwelling dating from the early 17th century. The building features a timber-frame construction with render and has a shallow pitched plain tile roof. It stands three stories tall and has a two-window range. The windows include 20th-century mullion and transom oriels with leaded lights, set in close studding, and a jetty. There are also two-light mullions with moulded sills and lintels, set in box-framing, and a moulded plate with vertical studding above. The early 20th-century double shopfront has a central paired entrance that is recessed under a boarded bressummer, supported by cast-iron pillars. There is a wing to the right rear of the building. It was thoroughly restored in 1990.
