Description
This is an L-shaped barn located approximately 30 meters west of Lee New Farmhouse. It is probably from the early 18th century and has had some minor alterations. The barn is timber framed with red brick infill and part weatherboarded, topped with a corrugated iron roof. It has two levels and features irregular square and rectangular panels in its framing. The long range of the barn has eaves hatches to the left and right of center, a roughly central stable door, and 20th-century windows at both ends. The shorter range has a stable door to the left of center with 20th-century windows on either side. There are 18th-century brick lean-tos at the gable ends of each range and two at the rear of the long range. Inside, the main range has a single-purlin queen-post roof in three bays, with a loft in the left bay. The projecting range also has a queen-post roof in three bays, featuring queen-strut end trusses and an inserted full-length loft. The barn is included for its group value.
