Description

COCKSHUTT C.P. SHREWSBURY ROAD (north- SJ 42 NW east side)

12/63 Phillips memorial - approx. lm north of vestry of Church of St. Simon and St. Jude GV II Chest tomb. Circa 1838. Limestone. Rectangular with tapering ends, moulded capping and plinth supported by ball feet on stone base to corners. Fluted corner piers and chamfered top ledger with broken finial. Cable moulding around moulded inscriptions panels, north commemorating Nathaniel Phillips (died 1842) and south his wife, Mary (died 1838). Carved floral emblems to ends.
