Description
No. 36 Church Street is a house dating from the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with axial stacks positioned behind the ridge on both the left and right sides. The building stands three storeys tall and has a three-window front. The first and second floors have glazing bar sashes, while the ground floor is fitted with plate-glass sashes. A central flat-roofed porch, which is stuccoed and topped with a balustrade, includes a six-panel door that is accessed by a flight of three steps.
At the front, there are pointed iron railings on a low stone wall, which end in painted stone piers that flank the porch at the centre, as well as similar piers on the left and right. It is noted that the front of the house was largely covered with ivy during the last survey in August 1985.
