Description
This is a row of three cottages located at 17, 19, and 21 Mount Street in Shrewsbury. They possibly date back to the 16th or 17th century but have later facing. The cottages feature roughcast render and a plain tiled roof, and they are one storey high with attic dormers. Each cottage has a single-unit plan.
No. 17 has a doorway to the left within an added gabled porch, with an inserted oriel casement window to its right. No. 19 has a central doorway flanked by two 2-light casements, while No. 21 features a lean-to porch with a casement window to its right. The cottages have a coved eaves cornice and three gabled dormers with overhanging barge-boards supported by brackets. The ridge is adorned with cresting, and there are cusped chimneys with oversailing caps.
