Description
The sewer ventilation pipe in Shifnal is a 19th-century structure made of cast iron. It stands approximately 4 meters tall. The base features two torus mouldings, leading to a plain shaft that has horizontal banding along with geometric triangle and circle detailing, followed by a scotia. Above this, there is a band of round-cornered rectangular mouldings, and further up, an elongated scotia is positioned beneath a band adorned with ball mouldings. The shaft narrows and remains plain until it reaches the halfway point, where a larger protruding disk is flanked by smaller disks both above and below. The pipe is topped with a collar that has four round studs and a capital decorated with stylised leaves.
