WHITCHURCH URBAN C.P. LONDON ROAD (north side) SJ 5441 SJ 54105 41910 7/107 Ice house approx. 15 metres - to south-west of The Tithe Barn GV II

Ice house. Mid-C18. Red brick covered by earth mound. Circular plan. Entrance to north-west (approach tunnel now demolished). Interior: domed roof with oculus. Tapered to drain at base. This was formerly one of the outbuildings to The Old Rectory, Claypit Street (q.v.). The Tithe Barn is not included on this list.
