Description
Chapel House, originally a chapel, dates from around 1830. It is constructed of rubble and brick, with a slate gable roof. The building was originally single storey and had a cellar. The central entrance features a 20th-century glazed door with an original overlight that has glazing bars, all set in a moulded case. Above this, there are coloured leaded lights beneath a semi-circular brick arch. The entrance is flanked by two 20th-century French windows, each with overlights that have single glazing bars, also under semi-circular brick arches. The gable has a pediment with a wood modillioned band and a restored date tablet. To the left, there is a 20th-century porch and an extension. The right side of the building has fixed round-headed lights in splayed reveals. The left side features two 20th-century French windows with round-headed overlights that have central glazing bars, also in splayed reveals and under brick semi-circular arches, along with 20th-century wood balconies. To the left, there is a single-storey vestry wing, which now has a corrugated plastic roof and a glazed front but retains a moulded wood cornice on clustered-shaft pilasters, along with panelling and a doorcase that has been repurposed as a cupboard from the chapel's interior.
