9/20 Remains of engine house - approx. 50m north- east of Gritt Farmhouse

Remains of engine house. Late C19. Regularly coursed limestone rubble, now roofless. Rectangular plan. 3 levels of scattered flat-headed openings with wooden lintels to west side and 2 openings with segmental red brick heads, one directly above the other, to surviving north gable end. Associated with former local lead mining and baryte extraction industry. An open shaft lies immediately to south. Gritt Farmhouse is not included in this list.
