Description

The Old School House and Prudence Cottage form a pair of cottages, largely dating to the 18th century, though with a part dated 1683 which may be unreliable. Their construction is in brick, topped with a plain tiled hipped roof. The two-storey Old School House has a doorway on its left side and a projecting canted bay window with a continuous lean-to porch roof. Above the bay are casement windows with 2 and 3 lights. Prudence Cottage is a single-storey and attic structure. It features a central door recessed within a gabled porch, flanked by 2-light casement windows, and incorporates two gabled dormers. A nogged string course runs through both cottages, being interrupted by the porch, and a possible blocked doorway is visible to the left. The right-hand bay is a separate build and is distinguished by a dentilled eaves cornice. A renewed datestone bearing the initials "I over RE" is present.
