Description
Limetree Cottages are a pair of brick cottages dated 1734, although they were significantly altered, including being raised in height during the early 19th century. The cottages have a plain tiled roof and two storeys, with a four-window front. They are symmetrically arranged, with doorways located between inserted single-light windows, and with two-light casement windows to the outer sides. The right-hand window has a single ring segmental head. The upper windows are also two-light casements, set below a dentilled eaves band. A datestone is positioned between the upper windows and likely was moved from its original location. The lower parts of the brick walls clearly show earlier brickwork, and the gable wall reveals traces of a previous roof line. End wall stacks are present.
