Description

The former granary, cartshed, and coach house, now used as a stable, is located approximately 20 metres to the north-west of Ness Strange. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and has been slightly altered in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of dressed red sandstone, with a timber-framed first floor at the front featuring red brick nogging. It has a hipped slate roof and the framing consists of light square panels with long straight tension braces.

The structure is two storeys high, with a pair of boarded loft openings in the centre and a boarded loft door to the left, which is accessed by external steps. The ground floor includes a three-bay former cartshed supported by two sandstone columns, which are now blocked in brick with boarded stable doors. At the rear, there is a former coach house that features a pair of large boarded doors set under an elliptical arch on the left-hand return front, along with a lean-to at the back. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of the group of outbuildings associated with Ness Strange.
