Description

The stable and coach house, along with the adjoining granary over the cartshed at North Farm, dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed and dressed stone with a stone slate roof facing the street, while the inner side features concrete tiles. There is one small stone ridge stack. The building is a long single range that runs parallel to the street, consisting of a single storey with a loft. The west wall facing the street is blind.

On the east side, there is a large segmental arch for the coach entrance on the left, which has double doors. Between the second and third windows, there are three 3-light windows and one plank door leading to the stable, all featuring segmental heads. The stable on the right retains its original wooden stall dividers, iron feeding racks, and some wooden mangers. A loft door is located on the south gable end, accessible via a flight of nine stone steps leading up to the plank loft door, which includes a cat hole. The north gable end has a double-width cartshed entrance with a timber lintel.
