Description
This is a group of three chest tombs and a railed enclosure located approximately 2 meters south of the nave of the Church of St Mary in Llanfair Waterdine. The memorials date from the late 18th century and early 19th century and are made of sandstone ashlar.
The chest tomb to the north-west features a moulded plinth, fluted corner pilasters with fillets, sunken panels, and a moulded cornice on its flat top. The chest tomb to the south-west has a moulded plinth, shaped quadrant corner balusters, raised panels, and a moulded cornice on its flat top. The chest tomb to the north-east also has a moulded plinth, fluted corner pilasters with fillets, sunken panels, and a flat top with reeded edges. Surrounding the north-east chest tomb is a cast iron railed enclosure on three sides, which includes fleur-de-lys headed railings and square-section panelled stanchions with concave caps.
