Description
No. 13 Oak Street is a house that has been converted into flats. It dates from the mid-18th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with internal end stacks. It stands three storeys high and has a moulded eaves cornice that wraps around a pediment. The facade consists of three bays, with the central section projecting and featuring a pedimented break. The windows are glazing bar sashes with gauged heads, except for a round-headed opening in the upper centre that has a late 20th-century casement window inserted. The central entrance has an open-pedimented doorcase with panelled reveals and soffits, which contains a six-panel door (with the top panels now glazed) and a fanlight. The late 20th-century additions to the rear of the building are not of special architectural interest.
