Description
The Payne Memorial, located approximately 10 meters south of the Church of St. Mary, is a table tomb dating from around 1750. It is made of sandstone and features a plain top ledger that rests on six fluted square columns with a rectangular base. A brass plate on the memorial is decorated with a skull and cross-bones, as well as a sickle and pick, commemorating Daniel Payne, who died in 1750. The top ledger also bears various 19th-century inscriptions honoring other members of the Payne family.
