Description

WEM RURAL QUINA BROOK SJ 53 SW SJ 5228 3291 6/154 Limekilns at N.G.R. - SJ 5228 3291 GV II Limekilns, now disused. Circa 1806. Mixed red brick and uncoursed sandstone rubble construction. 4 round-arched kilns. Associated with the Prees branch of the Ellesmere Canal, which was originally intended to reach Prees Higher Heath but instead terminated at Quina Brook, where a wharf was built c.1806.
