Description

The limekilns, now disused, are located along the Shropshire Union Canal and likely date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from roughly coursed and dressed limestone rubble, with red brick used for the arches. The structure features a high buttressed revetment wall that supports five round-headed kilns, which are open at the top and have brick ovens at the rear. These kilns are connected by a round-arched tunnel.
