Description

The Hoffman Kiln is a disused kiln built in 1899. It features a massive oval-shaped mound covered with earth, which conceals a red brick kiln that has two tunnel vaults. These vaults are accessed through 14 round-headed arches. There are smaller round-headed kilns located to the south on the east side and to the north on the west side. The structure includes air vents for the vaults and is associated with the nearby Hoffman Chimney, located immediately to the south. The kiln is recorded in the Salop County Sites and Monuments Record with the reference number PRN 3815.
