Description
No. 15 Bromfield is a 17th-century house with a timber-frame and plaster construction, topped with thatch. It features a massive rubble stack on the west gable and has an L-shaped plan. The west front, facing the road, has two 19th-century, 2-light metal lattice casements on either side of the stepped stack base. To the left, there is an outshut, and to the right, a simple porch, both with stone tiled roofs. The entrance consists of a studded and battened plank door.
On the right side of the house, there is a 3-light casement and a leaded light casement on the ground floor. The left side has a 2-light window with leaded lights and a gable featuring a small metal lattice light. The rear elevation is made of rubble with a plastered gable and includes 19th-century, 2-light casements on both the ground and first floors.
To the left, there is a wing constructed of painted brick, with timber-frame elements at the rear. This wing features a reused 18th-century stable door in the porch, flanked by wood mullion and transom windows, a brick end stack, and a small outshut. A plank door provides access to the rear.
