Description
This is a house located at 11 Bromfield, built around 1848. It features coursed rubble walls and a plain tile roof with gables at the front. The structure has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey with an attic. The right gable includes a five-light bay supported by scrolled consoles, with a coved underhang, lattice leaded lights, and a pentice roof. Above this is a two-light bay with cast-iron lattice glazing, set in a moulded wood case with a hood, and framed in painted timber. The gable has cusped barge-boards topped with a spike finial.
On the left side, there is a rustic porch with a pentice roof and a battened plank door featuring a cast-iron light. To the far left, a two-light mullion window with cast-iron lattice glazing is positioned beneath a shouldered drip course. There is also a gable dormer with a two-light mullion and cusped barge-boards with a spike finial. The right side of the building has two three-light mullions and two-light gable dormers above, all with cast-iron lattice glazed lights. The date "1848" is inscribed in stone lettering on the gable, indicating that this was likely a former schoolhouse.
