Description
The Boar's Head Inn is a house that has been converted into an inn, originally built in the 17th century, with some refacing and partial rebuilding in the early to mid-19th century, and 20th-century additions at the rear. The building features a timber frame that has been partly rebuilt and refaced, likely using coursed limestone rubble and stucco that has been incised to resemble ashlar. It has a slate roof with a catslide over the outshut at the rear. The structure consists of five framed bays, with a basement and two storeys.
There is a brick ridge stack located off-centre to the right, a lateral integral brick stack off-centre to the left at the front, and a lateral semi-integral brick stack off-centre to the left at the rear. The first floor has five windows, which are late 19th-century two-light casements. On the ground floor, there are four 16-pane glazing bar sash windows, three of which are to the left and have flush frames. A boarded door is situated between the first and second windows from the right, leading to a late 20th-century glazed lean-to porch. There is also a later addition to the south at the rear. Inside, there is evidence of a former jettied first floor in the right-hand framed bay, indicated by shaped brackets and a bressumer.
