Description
A pair of houses, built in the early 19th century in Bishop’s Castle. The houses are constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble with a red brick facing to the front, a squared and coursed limestone plinth, a rendered left-hand gable end, and a slate roof, which is hipped on the right-hand side. They are three storeys high. The houses have a projecting plinth, a brick end stack integrated into the left side, and a ridge stack above the doorway, which is positioned slightly to the right. The front facade has four windows, featuring glazing bar sashes with slightly segmental heads. There are doors on either side of the third window from the left, each with two flush lower panels and glazed upper panels: the left-hand door has 20th-century diamond leading, while the right-hand door has margin lights and coloured glass. The doors are set within deep 3-panelled reveals, with the lower two panels flush and the top panel raised and fielded, and panelled pilastered surrounds topped with a frieze and cornice.
