Description

The Buildings Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the late 18th century, which may include parts of an earlier structure, and has undergone later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with coped verges on carved stone kneelers. The building has a T-plan layout with a full-height gabled range at the rear and stands three storeys tall, characterized by a stepped eaves cornice.

There are two windows on the front, which are mid-19th century casements set within 18th century segmental-headed openings, located to the left and right of a roughly central entrance. A blocked segmental-headed window is found to the left on the ground floor, and two 19th century metal casements are positioned directly below the eaves on the second floor. A wide gabled timber porch from the 19th century is situated over a six-panel inner door, which has glazed upper panels, all within a plain pilastered doorcase. A prominent cruciform red brick ridge stack is located immediately to the right, creating a baffle entry. Above the porch, there is a Salop Fire Insurance Plate numbered 2680.

The rear range of the farmhouse features a dentilled eaves cornice and an integral end stack. Additionally, there is a mid-19th century yellow brick dairy at the rear on the left side, along with two-storey gabled brick ranges attached to the rear wing, which have been partly remodeled in the mid-19th century.
