Description
Heath House is a circa 17th-century house that was remodelled circa late 18th century. It is constructed of rendered timber frame and stone rubble, with a gable-ended slate roof. The original plan likely comprised two units: a hall or kitchen to the left and an integral byre to the right. In the late 18th century, the house was altered by raising the eaves and extending the byre with an outshut at the right end and a scullery outshut on the left end. The two-storey, asymmetrical front facing southeast has two windows. The windows are small two-light casements, with a 20th-century panelled door set to the left of centre, sheltered by a small wooden porch. A plank door is located on the left. Large outshuts are positioned at each end, both with slate lean-to roofs; the left outshut has a plank door on its end. Smaller casements are found at the rear. Inside, timber framing with brick infill of a closed truss is exposed in the byre.
