Description

This is a mid-18th century house and shop, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The front is rendered, likely over brick, and has a plain tile roof, with a brick stack at the rear. The building consists of two gabled sections facing the street, with the house behind the shop, aligned to the right. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. The upper windows are 6/6-pane sashes with painted lintels. The ground floor has two similar 6/6-pane sashes in the centre and to the left, and a lean-to porch with a door on the right. Storey bands mark both floors. A lower, projecting cross-wing is on the right and has a tall brick stack. An attic window is located on the left end of the main range, above a single-storey wing which serves as the shop. The shop has a small casement window next to the house front, but towards the street, a fine 19th-century shop front features a central recessed door, a panelled dado, and two tall panes with arched heads, a moulded frieze, and a cornice.
