Description
This former malthouse, which is now a warehouse, dates from the mid to late 19th century and is located on Welsh Street in Bishop's Castle, adjoining Number 20 to the west. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with some red brick patching and features a slate roof. It has an L-shaped plan and stands three storeys tall.
The exterior includes three two-light windows on the second floor, a two-light window on the first floor that is off-centre to the left, a boarded hoist door off-centre to the right, and three two-light windows on the ground floor with a boarded door to the right. There is a gabled wing to the left at the rear.
Inside, there is a brick-vaulted drying kiln located on the ground floor at the rear.
