Description

The forecourt wall and piers, located approximately 2 metres in front of Number 17, date from around 1700. The structure features a low rendered brick wall topped with stone coping. It is flanked by a pair of painted grey sandstone ashlar square piers, each adorned with a moulded plinth, recessed corners, raised and fielded panels, a moulded cornice, and a globe finial. The low wall shows signs of having had railings above it in the past. To the left of the entrance to Number 17, there is a matching wall and piers that were replaced when the shop front was added around 1900.
